Pakistan coronavirus cases tally has crossed 23,000 figures on Wednesday, with new confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across the country.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Pakistan as of Wednesday afternoon is 23, 274 with 535 reported deaths.
In the global ranking, Pakistan has been ranked 24th in terms of most number of cases and has become 29th country in which over 500 deaths have been reported due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
On Wednesday, Sindh reported 451 new COVID-19 positive cases with 9 more deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 60 people have recovered from corona in Sindh, reports Murtaza Wahab.
On Wednesday, Punjab reports 560 new cases taking the provincial tally to 8,693.
Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department 12new deaths have also been reported, taking the total fatalities to 156.
According to the department, 3,086 people have recovered from the virus while 25 are in critical condition. Some 106,927 tests have been conducted in the province so far.
40 new cases surface in the federal capital, GB and AJK collectively, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal.
Out of the 40 cases, 21 have been confirmed in Islamabad, 14 in Gilgit Baltistan, and 5 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The federal cabinet has approved easing lockdown restrictions in the country gradually after May 9 to open earning facilities to workers and daily wage earners provided a strict implementation of the coronavirus-related preventive measures suggested by the government is ensured.
The National Coordination Committee (NCC) is scheduled to meet on Wednesday in which the Centre and provinces will decide which businesses and industries will be reopened during the easing of restrictions.
