Pakistan coronavirus cases tally cross 11,000 mark, one day ahead of Ramazan

Pakistan’s nationwide coronavirus positive cases tally surges to 11,070 on Thursday night after new positive COVID-19 cases were reported, just one day ahead of Ramazan.

88 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, taking the provincial tally to 1,541, according to the KP health department.

The KP province also reported two deaths, in Peshawar and Charsadda, with KP’s death toll from the virus so far rising to 85.

The number of patients who have recovered in KP rose by 41 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Balochistan reported 55 new cases of the coronavirus. Provincial government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani confirmed the figures.

Balochistan’s tally of cases is now 607.

10 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Islamabad, according to the government’s COVID-19 portal, bringing the total number of cases detected in the federal capital to 214.

 In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 4 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed according to the government’s COVID-19 portal.

The tally of cases in AJK now stands at 55. AJK  has the least number of confirmed cases among all Pakistani regions.

61 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Punjab, taking the provincial tally to 4,767,

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in a tweet shared that another five people died in the province, where the death toll from the virus so far stands at 65.

Meanwhile, 115 people recovered from the disease as of Thursday.
