Pakistan Power Breakdown: Federal Minister Omar Ayub shares update

Omar Ayub Khan Federal Minister For Power, Petroleum & Natural Resource shares update as Pakistan faces major electricity breakdown.

Taking it to social media, Omar Ayub in a series of tweets shared the case of the breakdown and requested the public to keep restraint.

“Electricity blackout in the country due to a sudden drop in frequency in the power transmission system from 50 to 0. Attempts are being made to determine the cause of the frequency drop. Attempts are currently being made to run Tarbela, which will restore order”, he said.

“All teams have now arrived at their respective stations. As Federal Minister for Power, I am personally overseeing the restoration work. The public will be kept informed about the rehabilitation from time to time”, he added.

Pakistan is facing a major nationwide power blackout following tripping in NTDC transmission on Saturday late night. The resolution will take a while as the grids get re-energized in phases to avoid further tripping.
