Pakistan records 80 COVID-19 related deaths, 2,615 new cases in 24 hours

Pakistan has recorded 80 deaths and 2,615 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, National Command and Operating Centre (NCOC) reported on Sunday.

According to NCOC, out of the 80 people who lost their lives within a day, 44 were on a ventilator.

With new fatalities reported, the total death tally due to coronavirus has surged to 9,330 across the country.

As per details, 2,615 fresh coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours while 2,365 patients are in critical condition. The total number of COVID-19 infections in the country now currently stands at 457,288.

37,206 tests were conducted across the country during this period, while 6,301,341 samples have been tested so far.

Another 2,904 people have recovered from coronavirus in Pakistan, taking the country’s recovery total to 407,405.

The government’s database on COVID-19 shows that 2,365 virus patients are in critical condition.

NCOC stated that five major cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Peshawar were contributing 70 percent of coronavirus spread.

The government has urged the public to follow SOPs and guidelines to curb the spread of the disease.
