Pakistan on Friday has reported over 1,000 coronavirus cases in a day for the first time since July.
As per the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), 1,078 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total to 332,186.
Meanwhile, 20 deaths due to coronavirus were reported, the highest since September 1, 2020.
Pakistan’s confirmed deaths stand at 6,795 while a total of 313,527 people have recovered across the country – with 889 recovering in a day.
So far 32,933 tests were conducted across Pakistan.
Punjab has reported 244 new cases of COVID19 and seven deaths, according to government data.
The total number of cases in Punjab is now 103,831, while the death toll is 2,354.
Meanwhile in Sindh, 237 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed, taking the provincial tally to 145,475, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Five more people lost their lives from the virus, with Sindh’s overall death total to 2,625.
According to CM Sindh, a total of 7,521 tests were carried out during the last 24 hours.
furthermore, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir collectively reported 266 cases and one death over the past 24 hours, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal.
