Coronavirus Updates Today!
Pakistan has reported 2.351 new positive coronavirus cases and 61 deaths on Wednesday.
According to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), during the last 24 hours, 38,799 tests were conducted and as a result, the number of tests conducted so far has increased to 9,603,865.
While 2,853 patients recovered all across the country, raising the number of the recovered cases to 575,867.
Pakistan’s COVID-19 cases tally has surged to 612,315.

Federal Minister and chief of NCOC, Asad Umar in a tweet informed that the highest daily vaccination rate achieved yesterday in Pakistan.
“Highest daily vaccination rate of over 41 thousand vaccinations achieved yesterday. Of these 28, 424 vaccinations were carried out of senior citizens. Please encourage everyone who is 70 plus to register to get vaccinated,” he said.

The surge in the positive cases has rung the bell among the authorities as the national’s COVID-19 positivity rate crossed 7% a day ago.
The province of Punjab emerges as the worst-hit province with the third wave of coronavirus.
During the past 24 hours, Punjab has reported 1,137 coronavirus cases and 41 deaths.
The provincial total is 189,362 and the death toll is 5,853.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday recorded 440 coronavirus cases and 10 deaths.
The total number of KP’s COVID-19 cases is 76,819 and the death toll is 2,179.
Meanwhile, Balochistan reported 14 new cases. The provincial total is 19,247 while the death toll remains 202.

- Islamabad: 443 cases, 3 deaths
- AJK: 72 cases
- GB: 4 cases
While On Tuesday coronavirus updates was such as Sindh had reported 241 new cases of novel coronavirus and seven deaths.
The Sindh government has decided to engage private hospitals and laboratories in its bid to initiate a mass coronavirus vaccination programme in the province.
“The private health sector played a critical role in providing essential health services, especially when the public sector was so overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients,” read a statement from the Sindh government.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has decided to double the existing facilities at the Expo Centre Johar Town amid the rising number of registered senior citizens for the Covid-19 vaccination,
The decision was taken on the reports that every day the number of citizens aged 60 years or above was increasing at the Expo Centre, prompting the authorities to expand the facilities.
As the positive cases surge amid the third COVID-19 wave, the provincial governments have imposed smart lockdowns in COVID-19 hotspots of several areas of 7 major cities.
Furthermore, educational institutions have also been closed in seven cities of Punjab, Peshawar, and Islamabad for two weeks.
