Pakistan reports 847 COVID-19 cases, highest single day rise since July

Pakistan has reported 847 positive COVID-19 cases in the last 24-hours, the highest single-day rise since July.

The country now has confirmed 327,063 coronavirus cases. Out of these, 10,235 are active cases.

In the last 24 hours, 31,009 tests were conducted across the country. The nation wide conducted tests tally has reached to 4,235,329 COVID-19 tests.

Pakistan has reported 455 more recoveries from the coronavirus, taking the country’s total to 310,101.

According to the government’s Covid-19 portal, 586 virus patients are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Islamabad has reported 186 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours — the fifth straight day the capital has confirmed more than 100 daily infections. Federal Capital’s COVID-19 cases tally has risen to 18,764.

Provincial COVID-19 cases tally is as following:

Sindh: 143,222 cases and 2,594 deaths

Punjab : 102,467 cases and 2,334 deaths 

Balochistan:  15,791 cases and 148 deaths

KP: 38,923 cases and 1,268 deaths

Gilgit Baltistan has recorded 21 new cases taking its tally to 4,148

While Azad Jammu and Kashmir has confirmed 60 cases, taking tally to 3,748,

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) took notice of the alarming spike in COVID-19 cases during the last couple of days.

According to the NCOC, Muzaffarabad, Hyderabad, Karachi and GB have a higher positivity ratio along with other areas across the country.
