Pakistan reports 93 deaths, 3,191 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

Pakistan has reported 93 deaths, 3,191 new coronavirus cases reported across the country in 24 hours.

The nationwide COVID-19 confirmed cases count has surged to 228,474, according to the government’s health portal.

The total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 is 4,712 while recoveries tally is 129,830.

Furthermore, 2,419 corona patients are in critical condition while 25,527 tests have been conducted. The total number of tests is 1,398,352.

The highest number of cases have been reported in Sindh with 92, 306 cases followed by Punjab with 81,317 corona patients.

Meanwhile, 27,843 cases surface in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 10,766 in Balochistan, 13,409 in Islamabad, 1,545 Gilgit-Baltistan, and 1,288 in Azad Kashmir.

Punjab:

Punjab’s Covid-19 tally has risen to 81,317 after 1,020 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the government’s database on coronavirus.

The province has also reported 27 additional fatalities, taking the total number of deaths to 1,817.

Sindh:

Sindh has reported 1,585 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, taking the provincial total to 92,306, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The province has also reported 42 additional fatalities from the virus, taking the death toll to 1,501. S

CM Sindh also added that 1,480 people recovered during the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients in the province has risen to 52,388.

Balochistan:

49 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Balochistan, taking the provincial tally to 10,766, according to the Balochistan health directorate.

The province also registered one more death, with its death toll from the virus so far rising to 123.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen to 27,843 with 337 new cases reported today, according to the KP health department.

Eighteen more people died from the disease in the province — six in Peshawar, four in Lower Dir, three in Abbottabad, three in Swabi and one each in Mardan and Swat. KP’s death toll now stands at 1,020.

Islamabad, GB, AJK:

Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have collectively reported 200 new coronavirus cases and five more deaths.

The breakdown of COVID-19 cases in these areas is as follows:

  • Islamabad: 117 cases, 4 deaths
  • GB: 9 cases
  • AJK: 74 cases, 1 death
