Pakistan reports ninth polio virus case of this year from Zhob, Balochistan
Earlier on June 28, two polio cases were reported from Sindh and Balochistan.

Pakistan’s night polio case of the year 2024 has been reported in Zhob, Balochistan.
The new polio virus case was confirmed on Saturday.
Coordinator to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad said nine children have been so far affected by poliovirus in Pakistan this year.
A one-and-a-half-year-old child from Zhob’s Union Council 2 in the Hassanzai area was confirmed to have contracted the poliovirus
According to the details, symptoms appeared in the child on June 28.
Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed expressed concerns over the resurgence of polio cases in the region.
He said that the presence of the virus in over 50 districts poses a threat to children.
Earlier on June 28, two polio cases were reported from Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the Coordinator for the National Emergency Operations Center for Polio Eradication Muhammad Anwar Ul Haq, the government has carried out six anti-poliovirus drives this year.
“Various strategies are being adopted to protect children from the disease,” he said.
