Pakistan tour: Sri Lanka Announce Weakened Squads

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming Pakistan tour.  Left-handed batsman, Lahiru Thirimanne has been named ODI captain, while Dasun Shanaka will lead the T20 side. Earlier, ten Sri Lankan players including incumbent captains Dimuth Karunaratne and Lasith Malinga refused to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns.

Wrist spinner Lakshan Sandakan and Danuskha Gunathilaka have both earned recalls. Mindo Banuka is the only uncapped member of the ODI squad. Alongside Mindo, Bhanuka Rajapaksa is the other uncapped player in the T20 squad.

The bowling will be led by the experienced Nuwan Pradeep. Pacers Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha are also part of the squad. Isuru Udana, who has skipped the CPL to be part of the series completes the fast bowling options.

Three ODIs will be played in Karachi, while the 3 matches T20 series will be played in Lahore.

The series starts on 27th September.
