Pakistani Naeem Rashid hailed ‘hero’ at the Christchurch terrorist attack

The terrorist attack carried out at the two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand has sent shock waves all across the world. According to the news sources, this barbaric incident took lives of 49 Muslims and many are still critical admitted in the hospital.

Among the Christchurch, shooting victims was Naeem Rashid, who passed away in the hospital after he tried to wrestle the gun from the Christchurch shooter during the Friday afternoon attack.

Now being hailed as mosque massacre hero, Naeem Rashid tried to overpower the shooter – identified as 28-year-old Australian Brenton Tarrant, during a mass shooting at Al Noor mosque at Christchurch, which was live-streamed.

In the horrific incident was documented due to live streaming by the white extremist, Rashid can be seen rushing towards the gunman without a weapon in an attempt to stop the attacker with just his bare hands.

In his attempt to stop the terrorist, the hero was left badly wounded after he launched himself at the shooter to protect fellow worshippers at the mosque. He was rushed to hospital following the attack but passed away late on Friday night.

Naeem Rashid’s 21-year-old son, Talha was also among the victims of the Christchurch shooting victims.

Naeem Rashid was from Abbottabad, Pakistan, where he used to work with a private bank before moving to Christchurch to work as a teacher.

The international community has  come together to offer condolences and express sympathy to the affected families. As soon as the world got to know about Naeem Rashid’s act of bravery, messages are pouring in on social media. People are paying tributes to Rashid’s unmatched audacity and exemplary courage.
