Pakistan’s Covid-19 cases tally crosses 56,000

Pakistan’s coronavirus cases tally surpassed 56,000 as Sindh, AJK, and Islamabad collectively reported 504 cases during the past 24 hours.

In Sindh, 443 coronavirus cases and two more deaths have been reported during the past 24 hours.

While giving his daily briefing on the province’s coronavirus situation, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said:

“Yesterday 1,852 tests were conducted due to Eidul Fitr. Of these, 443 came back positive. So far, Sindh has conducted 159,301 tests out of which 22,934 have come back positive.”

He also added that Sindh’s death toll has surged to 369.

Meanwhile federal capital has reported 49 more Covid-19 cases and two more deaths while AJK has reported 12 cases and one more death over the past 24 hours.

Islamabad’s cases have risen to 1,641 while the death toll has risen to 16.

Meanwhile, AJK’s tally has risen to 209 while a total of two deaths have been reported so far.

Three coronavirus deaths have been reported in Gilgit-Baltistan, surging region’s death toll to 7.

Balochistan has reported 101 new coronavirus cases and one more death, taking the provincial total to 3,407, according to the daily situation report released by the provincial health department.

The total fatalities from the virus in the Baluchistan have risen to 40.

Here is a breakdown of the number of cases reported by each province:
Sindh: 22,934
Punjab: 19,557
Balochistan: 3,407
KP: 7,905
Islamabad: 1,641
AJK: 209
GB: 619

According to the government’s official portal for tracking the spread of the disease in the country, another 284 people have recovered from the coronavirus during the past 24 hours, taking the total to 17,482.
