Pervez Hoodbhoy’s remarks on Hijab leave social media in an uproar!
Nuclear physicist and public intellectual Pervez Hoodbhoy thinks women who wear hijab are ‘abnormal’.
His thoughts came to light while making an appearance on a live news show’s panel discussion.
“Hijab, burqa has become common in Quaid-e-Azam University,” he said, adding, “You won’t find a normal girl on the campus.”
He claims that the Hijab-wearing girl’s activities decline.

It seems quite awkward that people can not tolerate women’s choice of dressing themselves. And when the criticism comes from intellectuals it seems like a hopeless case for society.
It was the other day when Kim Kardashian’s appearance at MET Gala in New York, in a similar manner of Hijab become an international topic for discussion on the point that women who prefer to wear Hijab in their lives, their choices should be excepted instead of mocking them.

In our part of the world, labelling Hijab or burqa-wearing women as not normal is also totally unacceptable.
The clip of the show is doing rounds on social media ever since the show aired.
As Pervez Hoodbhoy called the women wearing hijabs foolish, many of the social media users are in an uproar over the intellectual’s remarks.
Meanwhile, Sama TV anchor Kiran Naaz registered her protest by wearing a hijab during her news program.

Well, the wife of PM Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi also wears a Hijab like thousands of other Pakistani women.
It is their personal choice to wear what and how. It is 2021 for God’s sake leave women and their choices alone.
