Pervez Musharraf’s funeral prayer offered in Karachi

The funeral was attended by senior officials amongst others.

Pervez Musharraf’s funeral prayer was offered in Karachi on Tuesday afternoon.

Former army chief and military ruler Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf’s funeral prayers were offered at a mosque in Karachi’s Malir Cantonment.

Later in the day, the ex-president, who passed away in Dubai on Feb 5, was laid to rest at an army graveyard.




As reported, the former army chiefs Qamar Javed Bajwa, Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Aslam Beg attended Musharraf’s funeral prayer.

Furthermore, politicians including MQM-P leaders Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi, Dr Farooq Sattar, PSP’s Mustafa Kamal, PML-N leader Amir Muqam, PTI leader and former Sindh governor Imran Ismail, former federal information minister Javed Jabbar, former FBR chairman Shabbir Zaidi as well as Musharraf’s son Bilal were also in attendance.

Former army chief and military ruler retired General Pervez Musharraf be laid to rest at an army graveyard near Kala Pull, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) spokesperson Tahir Hussain said in a statement.

Musharraf’s body was given Ghusl (ritual washing and shrouding of the deceased ahead of burial) in Sonapur, Dubai, where he breathed his last on Sunday.

While hea­vy security was deployed en route to the cantonment.
