Perween Rehman Murder Case Verdict: Court sentences the five accused to life imprisonment twice

Five accused in the murder case of Orangi Pilot Project Director Parween Rehman have been sentenced to life imprisonment twice and fined Rs 300,000 each.

Karachi’s anti-terrorism court on Friday has ruled in the murder case of Orangi Pilot Project director Parween Rehman after eight years.

The court sentenced the five accused to life imprisonment twice.

The accused Rahim Swati, Amjad Afridi, Imran Swati, Ayaz Shamzi, and Pappu Kashmiri will have to serve a total sentence of 58.58 years.

The accused have also been ordered to pay a total fine of Rs 3 lakh each.

Perween Rehman, also an activist,  was shot dead on March 13, 2013, on her way home from the office near Orangi Town, Karachi.

The case was registered by Orangi Town Police.
