Petrol will now cost Rs 98.89 per litre, after an increase of Rs 6 in Pakistan

The federal government has increased the petroleum oil lubricant (POL) Prices for the month of April 2019, taking effect from midnight 1st of April.

The price of Petrol and high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 6 per litre, prices of light diesel and kerosene oil raised by Rs 3 per litre each, while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased to Rs 117.43, light diesel will cost Rs80.54 and kerosene oil will cost Rs89.3.

As earlier on Friday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) moved a summary to the Petroleum Division proposing for the increase in petroleum prices in line with the fluctuation of oil prices in the international market.

According to the summary, Ogra proposed for the increase in the price of high-speed diesel by Rs11.17 per litre or 10% and petrol prices be hiked by Rs11.98 per litre or 12.8% for the month of April.

In the forwarded summary the regulator has also requested an increase in prices of kerosene oil of Rs6. 65 per litre or 7.7%, while an increase of Rs6.49 per litre or 8.4% has been recommended for light diesel oil (LDO).
