PIA Flight Attendant Caught Smuggling 16 Mobile Phones from Canada

Customs officials discovered the phones strapped to his body during a routine inspection at Islamabad Airport.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant has been apprehended for attempting to smuggle 16 high-end mobile phones into Islamabad from Canada.

The incident occurred on October 24 when Faisal Majeed arrived on flight PK-782 from Toronto.

Customs officials discovered the phones strapped to his body during a routine inspection at Islamabad Airport.

Upon his arrival, customs authorities grew suspicious of Majeed and conducted a search, revealing the concealed devices. Following the discovery, he was taken into custody, and PIA management issued a show-cause notice demanding an explanation within three days.

The notice emphasized that Majeed’s actions had tarnished the airline’s reputation and warned that failure to provide a satisfactory response could lead to his dismissal.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding smuggling activities at airports in Pakistan.

PIA has stated that it does not tolerate illegal actions by its employees and is committed to maintaining its integrity and reputation in the aviation industry.
