Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is currently overlooking the case of over 39,748 Pakistanis stranded all over the world due to Coronavirus, has announced the second phase of special flights to bring back the citizens home. The second phase, starting today (April 14) will be carried out till April 19 and would repatriate over 1,800 Pakistani nationals stuck in over nine countries.

Starting today on April 14, PIA has confirmed that a flight from Saudi Arabia would be bringing back 400 pilgrims to the country. The passengers would be carried back to Multan and Lahore. Furthermore, 270 Pakistani nationals from Thailand and Japan will be brought back to Islamabad too.

In addition to the stranded nationals, PIA will also be sending two special flights to UAE today to bring back 410 recently-released Pakistani prisoners. The flights would land back in Peshawar and Faisalabad. On April 15 and 16, two flights would be sent to Oman to repatriate 360 Pakistani prisoners from the country.

On April 17, the flag carrier would be sending flights to Manchester, Seoul, and Dubai. Similarly, on April 18 another flight to Manchester and then Jakarta would be sent for repatriating Pakistanis back home.

On April 19, the last day of the second phase, a Toronto to Karachi PIA flight would be en route to bring back the stranded nationals.
