PIA’s special flight to bring Pakistani stranded students form Wuhan

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will be bringing back the first batch of Pakistani students stranded in Wuhan, China, ground zero of the novel coronavirus.

PIA will bring the first batch of stranded Pakistanis – mostly students – startin from May 18, as around 250 individuals are expected to return.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari shared the development in a tweet.

I’m very happy for the 1st flight going to Wuhan to bring back our Pakistani students on 18/05/2020. You guys have been the bravest soldiers, PM @ImranKhanPTI & Pakistan are proud of you”, he wrote.

More than 1000 Pakistani students are reported to have been stranded in Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak.

PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez has confirmed that some 250 students will be brought back in the first flight which will land in Islamabad.

Whereas details about the schedule for three more flights will be announced next week, reports local media.
