PM Imran Khan participates in Ehsaas telethon

PM Imran Khan participated in Ehsaas telethon to collect funds to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

PM Imran Khan made clear that there is no political interference in the government’s Ehsaas cash disbursement programme and the entire process is computerised.

Speaking during the Ehsaas telethon, the premier said that he did not start fundraising to help those affected by the coronavirus, until he “fixed the financial controls”.

PM further added that what differentiates the coronavirus from other viruses is that its rate of spread is “unprecedented”, urging citizens to practice social distancing.

He said that “no government can solve coronavirus on its own”, adding that everyone would have to contribute to defeating coronavirus.

PM stressed that an indefinite lockdown is not an option and any decision regarding a lockdown should be for all Pakistanis and not just the elite.

Responding to a question about extending the lockdown, PM said,”We will have to live with it. Every country will have to adjust according to its conditions.”

My prominent anchors including Hamid Mir, Kashif Abbasi, Nadeem Malik, Mansoor Ali Khan are also participating in the telethon which is being hosted by Shiffa Yousafzai and Muniba Mazari.
