PM Shehbaz Sharif Visits Frontline Troops at Pasrur Garrison, Sialkot

PM Shehbaz met with officers and soldiers actively engaged in the military operation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday visited the frontline areas of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos at the Pasrur Garrison near Sialkot during the ongoing Maarka-e-Haq (Battle for Truth), reaffirming his support and solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan.

The prime minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Attaullah Tarar, Corps Commander Sialkot, and senior civil and military officials.

During the visit, he met with officers and soldiers actively participating in the operation and praised their unwavering dedication, valor, high morale, exceptional professionalism, and readiness in defending the nation’s sovereignty,

“The nation is proud of your dedication and sacrifice,” the prime minister told troops during his interaction, as per a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

 

The prime minister described the armed forces as the “crown jewels of the nation” and lauded their exemplary performance in repelling India’s unprovoked aggression with precision and resolve within a few hours.

The prime minister received a comprehensive briefing on the conduct of the battle and the current operational preparedness of the Corps and announced plans to visit various air bases and naval bases in the coming days to meet personnel from the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy as a show of continued support for all branches of the military.

On May 10, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, deploying its Al-Fatah missile to strike multiple Indian military targets. Key installations hit included BrahMos storage sites in Beas and Nagrota, while S-400 air defense systems in Adampur and Bhuj were also targeted and effectively neutralized by the Pakistan Air Force.
