PML-N leader Siddique-ul-Farooq passes away in Islamabad

He joined the PML-N in 1993 and remained loyal to the party throughout his life.

Siddique-ul-Farooq, a senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), journalist, and writer, passed away in Islamabad on Sunday. 

His funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow at 11 am at the H-11 Cemetery in Islamabad.

As reported, Siddique-ul-Farooq passed away due to complications from a prolonged illness, including kidney issues.

Farooq held significant positions in the PML-N, notably serving as the Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board during Nawaz Sharif’s time as Prime Minister.

Recently, he received a visit from Senator Irfan Siddiqui, who conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s concerns for his health and offered assistance with his medical treatment.

Tributes Flow In

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound grief over the passing of Siddiq-ul-Farooq, remarking, “The party has lost a devoted and insightful politician. His contributions to the PML-N will be fondly remembered.” He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Irfan Siddiqui, the PML-N parliamentary leader in the Senate, praised Siddiq-ul-Farooq’s resilience and unwavering commitment, emphasizing his steadfastness during turbulent times. “He valiantly stood against dictatorship and remained loyal to Nawaz Sharif, even under immense pressure,” Siddiqui said.

Siddiq-ul-Farooq’s contributions to journalism, literature, and politics have left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire his party and colleagues.
