Polio worker who walks through waist-high snow, is the new national hero!

In wake of recent Polio eradication drive, hundreds of polio workers in Pakistan travel far and wide places to give polio vaccination to the children.

The hard task is carried by these unsung heroes, who make sure that every child is protected from polio, no matter where they live in Pakistan.

A recent video making rounds on various media is reported to be of a polio worker Irfanullah s/o Muhammad Kareem, who is resident of Beshigram Tehsil Bahrain, District Swat.

Who clad in a simple shalwar-kameez dress, walks in waist-high snow. As soon as this video was shared on social media, he is received as a new national hero.

Pakistan’s Polio Eradication Initiative tweeted the video with the comment: “Polio teams work throughout the year to protect your child against polio and it is their tireless efforts and unmatched dedication to which we owe our progress. Thank you to our heroes – our polio workers. #endpolio”

Meanwhile, the UNICEF Pakistan also appreciated the long-distance travel of polio workers. In a tweet post, the UNICEF shared a picture of a polio worker, who walks in the snow in spite of the harsh weather conditions, with an aim to save the future of the nation from poliovirus.
