Rain lashed several areas of Karachi with gusty winds turning the weather pleasant on Monday morning.
According to local media, heavy and light rainfall has been recorded in several areas of Karachi including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, PECHS, Federal B Area, Shah Faisal Colony, Baloch Colony, Korangi Express way, Malir, Airport, Sharae Faisal, Garden and Saddar.
Shortly after the rainfall, the power outage hit numerous areas of the metropolis.
The electricity has been affected in Defense phase 8, Lasbella, North Nazimabad, Malir, Korangi, Landhi, Liaquatabad, New Karachi, Garden, Saddar, Gurumandar, Lines Area, and PECHS.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in the next few hours. The PMD has also predicted that light and heavy rainfall will be continued till Tuesday.
Meanwhile, monsoon rains have also lashed Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar districts of Sindh.
Earlier, the met office has warned that heavy falls will generate urban flooding in Karachi, Thatta and Hyderabad divisions on Monday and Tuesday. The weather advisory issued few days ago has also alerted the concerned authorities to take precautionary measures during the forecast period.
