President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
The health update was shared by Dr. Alvi in a tweet on his official Twitter handle.
“I have tested positive for Covid-19. May Allah have mercy on all Covid affectees. Had 1st dose of vaccine، but antibodies start developing after 2nd dose that was due in a week. Please continue to be careful,” he said in a tweet.
Pakistan’s President and Defence Minister Pervez Khatak both have tested positive for Coronavirus – days after both attended the country’s Pakistan Day military parade on March 25th where a considerable crowd was in attendance.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail announced that the defence minister had tested positive for the virus, as he wished him a quick recovery.
Dr. Arif Alvi and his wife Samina Alvi had received the first doses of the COVID-19 jabs at a vaccination center in the federal capital’s Tarlai area.
Earlier on March 20, Prime Minister Imran Khan and first lady Bushra Bibi had also tested positive for COVID-19.
The PM went into self-isolation at home after testing positive.
The premier had also been inoculated on March 18 — two days before he tested positive for the virus.
