Primary School Teacher Suspended in Sargodha for Social Media Misconduct

A primary school teacher in Sargodha has been suspended for allegedly inciting his colleagues against the government through social media. The suspension was confirmed on November 29, 2024, and is part of a broader crackdown on perceived anti-government activities among educators.

As reported, Sargodha’s District Education Officer (DEO) suspended a primary school teacher, Asad Hayat, for allegedly inciting colleagues against the government on social media during duty hours.

The suspension, carried out under the Peeda Act 2006, cites charges of spreading propaganda against state institutions, misuse of social media, and misconduct, including using the internet during work hours.

Hayat, stationed at Primary School Chak No. 5 Rakh Dharema, faces an immediate suspension as disciplinary proceedings continue.

The suspension order stated, “The services of Asad Hayat, PST, Govt. Primary School Chak No.5 Rakh Dharema Sargodha are hereby suspended with immediate effect under the PEEDA Act-2006.”
