Professor at University of Malakand Arrested Over Allegations of Sexual Harassment
A case has been registered against the accused under multiple provisions

A professor at the University of Malakand has been arrested and taken into custody by the police following allegations of sexually harassing female students.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhibullah Khan confirmed the arrest on Sunday, although some reports mention a different official, Azhar Zahoor, who provides similar information.
“A case has been registered against the accused under multiple provisions,” the deputy commissioner said, adding that the police had launched investigations into the incident.
The university has stated its commitment to maintaining a safe educational environment and conducting an impartial investigation into the matter
The complaint was filed by a female student who claimed that the professor had been harassing her for several months. The student reported that the professor entered her home, physically assaulted her in front of her family, and threatened her with dire consequences if she did not agree to marry him.
The case involves serious charges under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including assault with intent to outrage modesty and criminal intimidation.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also took notice of the incident and formed an “inquiry committee for an inquest into the complaints of alleged inappropriate events purportedly” at the university.
The two-member committee, comprising Administration Department Additional Secretary Asif Rahim and KP police AIG Establishment Sonia Shamroz, will visit the varsity, and gather relevant facts and statements from all parties involved, reads a notification issued by KP Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The probe committee would submit its report within 15 days, it added.
