Yes, it’s the same thing we as children use to do, a selection method involving hands similar to rock-paper-scissors.
Likewise, every year, the franchise that finished last in the prior season is allowed to make the first pick.
For that reason, this year too, Lahore Qalandars will enjoy the first pick.
As being reported, representatives of all the five franchises will be gathered either at Minar-e-Pakistan or Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore to do ‘Pugam’. The official confirmation has yet to come.
Reportedly, the new method will be on display on Sunday (Nov 3).
According to Daily Jang’s report, a local version of the lottery could also be used to decide draft picks.
This effort aims at attracting cricket fans in the country towards the game by implementing various interesting ideas.
A similar effort was made by Cricket Australia (CA) In 2018, as it introduced bat flip in place of toss in their popular franchise event, Big Bash League (BBL). Their this innovation had attracted the entire cricket world.
The fifth edition of the PSL will be played in Pakistan from 20 February to 22 March 2020.
