PTI suspends basic membership of Khurram Hameed Rokhri
The PTI has requested all the media groups not to call and invite him as a PTI leader.
PTI has suspended basic membership of Khurram Hameed Rokhri it emerges on Friday.
Hours after Major (retd) Khurram Hameed Rokhri made revelations regarding his meeting with a senior army officer, during a live news program, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf suspended the membership of the party’s estranged leader.
The notification of his suspension has been issued by PTI’s Mianwali President Saleem Gul Khan.
In a statement, the PTI said: “After consultation with the higher party leadership, basic membership of Mr. Major (R) Khurram Hameed Khan Rokhari has been terminated as he has violated party policy and spoke on media against PTI version without party permission. From now onwards he is no more in PTI.”
The PTI has requested all the media groups not to call and invite him in the capacity of its leader.
“If he is called and invited as PTI leader, legal action will be taken against the media group,” warned the party.
“All government officers and officials are also advised not to entertain Mr. Khurram Hameed Khan Rokhari as a PTI member from now onwards,” it added.
What led to PTI expel Khurram Hameed Rokhri from the party?
While making an appearance on the Geo News programme Capital Talk, hosted by Hamid Mir, PTI’s now former leader Major (retd) Khurram Hameed Rokhri debunked party chief Imran Khan’s allegation against a senior army officer, saying he was a man of principles.

Rokhari said the officer was two-course junior to him and knew him the way Hamid Mir knows about fellow journalist Saleem Safi.
He went on to add that a bunch of sycophants surrounding “poor” Imran had brought him to this juncture, adding he does not pay heed to those sincere to him, including his sisters.
Narrating details about a meeting at Bani Gala, he said that it was said the general officer was tasked with crushing Imran Khan’s narrative and the PTI.
Rokhri said that he interjected in the meeting and told the PTI leadership that the officer was a thorough professional and a man of principles who would not sell his conscience and honour to please anyone.
The PTI leader also told Mir that he met the officer for a third time, along with Salman as Imran’s spokesperson. He added that the meetings with the officer took place after Shahbaz Gill’s incident.
Rokhri said that when Salman asked for yet another meeting, he suggested that the PTI chief meet the officer.
“The PTI sent me the conditions for talks, which I forwarded to the persons being named. They agreed to meet but suggested a place other than theirs or ours.”
