Unidentified men attacked PTI leader outside the office of local TV channel

PTI leader Raoof Hassan was injured in an attack in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The attackers targeted Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan’s face, leaving him bleeding.

As reported, the PTI leader was attacked by unknown men as he arrived at the office of a private TV channel in Islamabad.

Aaj News reported that Hassan was attacked by 5-6 transgender people.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter and also acquired a CCTV from the spot.

“Extremely shameful and deplorable,” PTI said in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, adding: “Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan attacked by unknown persons outside the office of a private channel.”

In the video shared along with the PTI statement, Raoof Hassan could be heard asking people to call the doctor, with blood seen on his face and shirt as he walked into a building.

As the news of the incident also reached the Senate, the opposition staged a walk-out in protest.

PTI leader Shibli Faraz condemned the attack, saying that Hassan was a spokesman of the largest political party in the country.
