Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, PTI Leaders Charged in Triple Murder Case Linked to Rangers’ Deaths During Protest

FIR Alleges Orchestrated Plan from Adiala Jail; Accusations Include Incitement Against Armed Forces and Violent Clashes During "Do-or-Die" Protest

Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, along with his wife Bushra Bibi and several senior PTI leaders, has been implicated in a triple murder case on Friday concerning the deaths of three Rangers personnel during a protest last month.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Ramna Police Station in Islamabad, alleging that the incident was part of a plan orchestrated while Khan is incarcerated at Adiala Jail for over a year.

The FIR claims that the deaths of the Rangers occurred “at the behest of the PTI founder,” with assertions that some inmates and undercover police officers at the jail could testify to this plan.

Among those named in the FIR are prominent PTI figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan.

The FIR further alleges that Bushra Bibi and other accused incited mutiny against the armed forces through a video message, which allegedly led to the tragic events. The report states that an unidentified driver rammed a vehicle into the Rangers personnel who were on security duty during the PTI protest.

The PTI leadership has been charged under terrorism laws and multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. This development follows a chaotic protest aimed at securing Khan’s release, which ended with violent clashes between law enforcement and protesters.

On the other hand, PTI claims that at least 12 of its workers were killed and around 1,000 arrested during these confrontations; however, the government denies using live ammunition and states that four law enforcement officers, including three Rangers, were killed in the unrest.
