Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Shehryar Afridi and Ali Muhammad are reported to have been re-arrested upon release from Adiala jail on Tuesday.
“Ali Muhammad Khan has now been arrested for the third time,” the PTI said on Twitter.
The jail administration said, “Ali Muhammad Khan has been released after the completion of his detention period. Ali Muhammad has been released on the order of the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC)”.
Ali Muhammad Khan was arrested from Islamabad on May 21 by Islamabad police under Section 3 of MPO.
He was released from custody earlier today on an order of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench.
According to the jail administration, Afridi was released on completion of his “house arrest” period under the MPO.
As reported, former state minister Shehryar Afridi along with his wife was picked up on May 16 from his residence in Islamabad under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance 1960, which enables the government to arrest persons “acting in any manner prejudicial to public safety”.
However, his wife was released later on the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
