PTI MNA Najeeb Haroon resigns citing lack of development work in Karachi

Muhammad Najeeb Haroon resigns from National Assembly on Saturday, citing lack of development work in Karachi.
Najeeb Haroon is one of the founding members of PTI and was elected from NA-256 Karachi in the July 2018 general elections
Najeeb Haroon took to social media sharing a detailed account of his resignation. In a tweet, he wrote, “It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve tendered my resignation from the @NAofPakistan to PM @ImranKhanPTI. It’s been 20 months and have not been able to improve either my constituency nor my hometown #Karachi and in good conscience can not justify being in this position”.

“As the only surviving founding father of the first executive committee, I would still be part of my beloved party @PTIofficial till my last breath. I also strongly believe in the capable leadership of @ImranKhanPTI and that he can take #Pakistan to new heights,” he further added.
“Being the only MNA who does not take a salary or any perks being an MNA, being one of the highest taxpayers in Pakistan, my intentions have always been to give back to #Karachi and to #Pakistan. If I am not able to do so in my right conscience cannot justify being in my position,” he said in a later tweet.

“Being JUST an MNA was never my intention. I wanted to do something for my city where my children and grandchildren live. I wanted to do something so they don’t want to leave for some other country. HAVE not given up, and would still stand with #PTI,” he concluded.
As being reported, PM Imran Khan on a telephone call to Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has directed him to approach Najeeb Haroon and persuade him to withdraw his resignation.
