PTI protests in Rawalpindi continue for the second day!
Amid the protests, the flow of traffic in the twin cities has been terribly disrupted for the second day as PTI protestors blocked multiple arteries of the region.
Citizens were forced to find alternative routes to enter the federal capital.
While the schools in Rawalpindi have also been closed for two days, (Nov 8 and 9).
As reported, dozens of PTI protestors who arrived in the two cities on Monday morning decided to stay overnight.
The development comes after PTI leader Pervez Khattak announced that party workers would start blocking Islamabad’s entry and exit points from Monday night.
As reported, Musyari Expressway leading to Murree Hills was also blocked by PTI workers as they set tires on fire.
Rescue 1122 ambulances and fire engines were called on the spot to handle any untoward situation.
According to police, Faizabad, Koral Chowk, Peshawar Road underpass, Taxila GT Raod, Golra Mor, Chak Beli Khan, and Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza were closed to avoid entry of the protesters into the city.
Besides this, Double Road and Pindora Chongi entry points from I.J.Principal Road also remained closed.
PTI has announced that the long march from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will start on Tuesday.
It should be noted that the PTI leadership has postponed the resumption of the long march from Wazirabad till Wednesday.
This decision came after an important meeting between Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab, in which Chaudhry Pervez Elahi presented some “solid” reasons to the PTI chairman for postponing the long march, which was accepted.
