PTI Submits Written Demands to Government

The written demands are signed by all six members of the PTI's negotiation committee

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday formally submitted its demands in writing, calling for investigations into the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024, along with the release of “political prisoners.”

PTI’s ‘Charter of Demands,’ obtained by OyeYeah.com, states that the party will discontinue negotiations if the government does not establish two separate commissions to investigate these incidents.

In the three-page document, the PTI stated that both the party and its allies have endured “blood and gore,” and their leader Khan, along with thousands of supporters, has faced “unjustified imprisonment.”

The written demands are signed by all six members of the PTI’s negotiation committee, which includes CM Gandapur, former speaker Qaiser, Secretary-General Raja, MWM head Allama Abbas, and SIC’s Raza representing the PTI.

The document indicated that the party engaged in negotiations with the “government installed in Islamabad” to advance the struggle for the rights of the people.

“The Charter of Demands is presented as a prerequisite for broader negotiations concerning the restoration of the Constitution, upholding the rule of law, respecting the people’s mandate, and ensuring free and fair elections.”

The third meeting between the PTI and the government was held at the Parliament House under National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s leadership, where the demands were presented.

NA Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, former NA speaker Asad Qaiser, party’s Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Chairman Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza represented the PTI.

The government’s team includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, PM’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) lawmaker Farooq Sattar and Balochistan Awami Party lawmaker Khalid Magsi.
