Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers end the sit-in without arrest in Multan on Saturday!

On the fourth day of the Jail Bharo Tehreek, PTI leaders and workers gathered in Multan’s Nawan Sheher Chowk on the call of party chairman Imran Khan.

As reported from Multan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf activists ended the sit-in without arrest.

PTI leader Amir Dogar announced the end of the protest and said that they were waiting for police to arrest them but they didn’t arrive, adding that former lawmakers were also among the protesters gathered at Nawan Sheher Chowk.

“The police had parked their vehicles a kilometre away while we had announced to gather at Nawan Sheher Chowk,” he said.

Dogar further added that they were willing to voluntarily present themselves for the arrest on the call of Imran Khan and can come again in a day or two if the PTI chief asked.

During the sit-in, the workers insisted that the police should arrest them and put them in the police van.

However, the police announced that the PTI workers should offer voluntary arrests and that the police vehicles were present at the spot.

The police van was parked one kilometre away from the protest site, and the activists climbed on the police van and took selfies and pictures.

PTI leaders said the police did not make any arrests, and the next course of action will be announced later.

In Peshawar on Thursday, a similar situation was witnessed where not a single leader or activist was arrested.
