PTI’s Jalsa at Minar Pakistan, Punjab Govt issues a threat alert

The routes leading to Minar Pakistan from Ravi Bridge and Railway Station are closed

The caretaker Punjab government issued a threat alert regarding the scheduled rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Minar Pakistan Lahore on Saturday.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all geared up to hold its power show at Lahore’s monumental Minar-e-Pakistan at around 9 pm.

The threat alert states that the terrorists have reached Lahore with explosives, and the terrorists may target the security personnel of the political rally or the security of the procession.

On the other hand, the Punjab government has placed containers on the way leading to Minar-e-Pakistan, creating hurdles for people seeking to partake in the jalsa.

However, in one of his statements, caretaker information minister Punjab Amir Mir denied stopping the people from going to the rally by erecting barriers.

He said that the police did not block the roads leading to the PTI Jalsa venue in Lahore.

He said that the risks of terrorism increase in the case of public gatherings, and checking is being done by law enforcement agencies to protect the citizens, after the threat alert has been issued, in view of the security concerns at certain places containers are installed.

As reported, the routes leading to Minar Pakistan from Ravi Bridge and Railway Station were closed, while containers have also been placed at the city’s Shah Alam Market.

Meanwhile, the Sagian Bridge and Engineering University Road routes are also closed.

In Lahore, the Shahdara, Ravi Toll Plaza, and Bati Chowk routes to Minar-e-Pakistan routes have also been blocked with containers while Niazi Chowk, Delhi Gate and Dumuria Bridge are also reportedly blocked.
