Pakistan Television (PTV) will telecast Taraweeh live during Ramadan, Radio Pakistan reported on Wednesday.
Radio Pakistan reported that the move to telecast Taraweeh prayers on national TV was instructed by President Arif Alvi to the the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Earlier a week ago, President Alvi had announced that all prayer congregations at mosques and imambargahs in the country will resume with strict SOPs.
A 20-point notification based on rules of social distancing was issued by the government for the mosque management and worshipers to follow the instructions.
Experts, however, said that the congregations could rise the number of COVID-19 infections in the country.
Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Minister Noorul Haq Qadri said that the government restore the ban on mass prayers if they cause a spike in infections.
