The Punjab government has banned indoor weddings till January with immediate effect amid a surge of coronavirus cases in the province.
Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department issued the notification and the order was approved by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
According to the official notification issued, the ban will come into effect from today, 20 November, and will last till January 31.
Furthermore, all types of large scale gatherings are banned.
However, outdoor marriages and events have been allowed with an upper limit of 300 people.
The provincial government has directed to follow coronavirus guidelines, wear masks, and maintain social distance.
Punjab has reported 609 coronavirus cases and 15 deaths during the last 24 hours.
