Punjab has become the first province of Pakistan to cross 50,000 coronavirus cases.
In the last 24 hours, the provincial tally has risen to 50,087 after 2,705 new cases were recorded.
The total number of fatalities has reached 938 after 48 more deaths were confirmed in Punjab.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday has met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in Lahore.
During the meeting, the PM discussed the budget recently presented by the federal government.
In a tweet, Punjab Spokesperson Musarrat Cheema said that steps to provide relief for weaker segments were also discussed.
“Government of Punjab is trying to give maximum relief to people and also ensuring the availability of medical supplies to Hospitals,” she tweeted.
