The update on his health was shared by his daughter MNA Nafisa Shah in a tweet.

“My father Qaim Ali Shah tested positive for coronavirus a few days back. He has all the symptoms and is undergoing treatment and care at home under the supervision of a team of doctors. Pls pray for his good health and speedy recovery,” she said.

The development comes as Sindh has been reporting a surge in coronavirus cases over the past couple of weeks.

88 years old veteran PPP politician served as the elected Chief Minister of Sindh for three terms. His last two terms combined, a total of eight years, makes him the longest-serving Chief Minister of Sindh.
He is Sindh President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and an elected Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from PS-220.
Shah entered politics on being elected the Chairman of Khairpur’s district council under Field Marshal Ayub Khan’s system of Basic Democracy in the 1960s.
His close association with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto led to his joining PPP shortly after PPP’s creation in 1967.
