Rashid Rabbani, senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader, and Sindh Chief Minister’s special assistant passed away on Thursday in Karachi.
As being reported, he was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi and was on a ventilator for the past few days.
Senior PPP leader contracted coronavirus a few days ago and succumbed to complications caused by COVID-19.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has expressed deep sorrow over Rabbani’s death and extended his condolences to his family, saying that he was one of the few who could be counted among late Benazir Bhutto’s closest associates.
“His services to democracy shall always be remembered,” Shah added.
PPP leadership has regarded his death as a great loss to Pakistani politics and shared condolence messages on social media.
