With thousands of citizens of India stranded abroad desperate to get back to their homes or work in foreign countries, the Indian civil aviation ministry’s website crashed due to the volumes of hits it is getting from people to know about the special flights.

The panicked Indian citizens abroad rushed to register for a repatriation of almost 15,000 nationals from 12 countries on planes and naval ships.

In total, 64 flights will bring Indians home from the Gulf region, while others will operate from Southeast Asia, Britain and the United States.
