In a sad turn of events, a resident of Karachi loses his life while trekking the Biafo glacier!

As being reported, 31-year-old Talha Shakeel died on Monday morning due to high altitude sickness and complications in breathing.

The dead body of the deceased was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Skardu, by an army helicopter.

According to the reports, a three-member trekking team comprising the victim from Karachi, Talha Shakeel, Ammara Khan, and Affifa Haider had started their trek of the glacier from Shigar district recently.

The team had stayed at the Carfoguro camp on Sunday.

Biafo & Hispar glaciers in Gilgit Baltistan are listed among the list of longest glaciers in the world.
