Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make a Shariah decision of Eid, Noorul Haq Qadri

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri on Saturday said that the people and government of Pakistan will celebrate Eid according to the decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee

Shari’a and religion rely on the sighting and martyrdom of the moon, said the federal minister Pir Noorulhaq Qadri.

Science and modern instruments can be used for martyrdom and vision, he added.

While a  representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology has also been included in the Central Committee this time, stressed the minister.

Talking about Fawad Chaudhry’s recent remarks about moon sighting, he added that he is a good friend of mine but nowadays he is playing Chand Chand.

Minister of Religious Affairs made it clear that the decision of Eid will be made by the religious scholars.

On the other hand, Pakistan Ulema Council has rejected Fawad Chaudhry’s statement about eid.

The session of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to sight the Shawwal moon is in progress and currently testimonies are being gathered from across the country.

The meeting is being held in Karachi with Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman in the chair, while meetings of the zonal committees are taking place at their respective provincial headquarters.
