Salman Akram Raja Dismisses Barrister Saif’s Claims on Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi’s Suhoor

Barrister Saif, had alleged that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were not being provided with food during Suhoor and Iftar in jail, forcing them to fast without the pre-dawn meal.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General, Salman Akram Raja, has dismissed as incorrect and irresponsible the statement made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s spokesperson, Barrister Saif, alleging that PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were not provided with food for Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) during their incarceration.

Salman Akram Raja confirmed Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari’s assertion that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being provided with adequate meals during Suhoor and Iftar (meal to break the fast). He mentioned that Barrister Saif has been asked to clarify his statement.

After meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Salman Akram Raja on Tuesday stated that the PTI founder is in good health and that rumours about his health are unfounded.

He also refuted claims that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were not provided with Suhoor or that their religious practices were being disrupted.

In response to a question, Salman Akram Raja mentioned that he had asked Sheikh Waqas Akram to inquire why Barrister Saif made such a statement.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Advisor on Information, Barrister Saif, had alleged that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were not being provided with food during Suhoor and Iftar in jail, forcing them to fast without the pre-dawn meal.

Addressing these allegations, Punjab government spokesperson Uzma Bukhari stated that Imran Khan is provided with meat, vegetables, lentils, beetroot juice, coffee, boiled eggs, and dry fruits three days a week, while Bushra Bibi is provided with meals according to her preferences.
