Sardar was seen making a victory sign before being produced before the court.

Balochistan Minister for Communication and Works Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran was arrested on Wednesday on “suspicion of killing three people” in the province’s Barkhan district.

The Barkhan triple murder saga took a dramatic twist, when a police surgeon, after the autopsy examination of the bodies, revealed that one of the deceased was a 17 to 18-year-old female and not Garn Naz as claimed.

According to the autopsy report, the female deceased was raped and tortured before being shot thrice.

Kidnapped woman Gran Naz, her daughter and 4 sons were rescued by Levies force, who were allegedly in the custody of Balochistan Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran in the province’s Barkhan district.

The background story behind the Barkhan tragedy

As reported, Khan Mohammad Marri used to be a bodyguard of Sardar Abdur Rehman Kethran.

He was forced to flee the district when the Sardar supposedly ordered him to become a witness against his own son, Inam Shah, as the two had fallen out with each other.

Refusing to do so meant his death, which is why Khan Mohammad Marri fled the province.

After Khan Mohammad Marri escape, the Sardar allegedly confined Marri’s wife, Gran Naz, and his seven children, in his private jail.

According to the police, a case was registered on January 18, 2023, on the complaint of the woman’s husband and father of the children, Khan Muhammad Marri, for the disappearance of the deceased and other family members.

Khan Mohammad Marri had named Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) spokesperson and provincial minister for construction and communications Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran, who is an elected representative from Kohlu Barkhan, named in the case.

Muhammad Marri, the plaintiff in the case, told Dawn News.TV during a telephonic conversation that in 2019, his wife and 7 children, including a young daughter, were fined for not testifying in the dispute between Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran and his son Sardar Inam Khetran. And alleged that Sardar had imprisoned him in a private jail.

The police raided Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran’s residence on late Tuesday night in connection with the gruesome murder of three people
