A group of students performing ‘Sarfaroshi kī Tamanna’ becomes the main highlight of the Faiz Festival being held in Lahore.
The original ‘Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna’ is a patriotic poem written in Urdu by Bismil Azimabadi of Patna in 1921, and then it was also immortalized by Ram Prasad Bismil as a freedom war cry during the British Raj period in India. The poem was first published in the journal Sabah, in Delhi.
Though it had no relevance with the Faiz Festival, thanks to social media it became a top trending item.
As being reported these were students and activists mobilizing at the Faiz Mela to get people to join the student solidarity march on November 29th.
