The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has revised school timings due to a severe heatwave affecting the region.
The new schedule has been implemented immediately to ensure students’ health and safety during extreme weather conditions, according to an official notification issued on Tuesday.
All schools will now open at 7:15am. Primary schools will operate from 7:15am to 11:40am. Middle and high schools will remain open from 7:15am to 12:15pm.
Some reports also indicate a slight variation in dismissal times ranging between 11:30am and 12:30pm, depending on the grade level and district.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz-led Punjab government has announced that all public and private schools across the province will commence summer vacations from May 28 to August 14.
