Sending ‘good morning’ texts to women is also harassment, Kashmala Tariq

According to Kashmala Tariq, the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplaces, sending ‘Good Morning’ messages to women is tantamount to harassment.

While addressing a ceremony at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, Kashmala Tariq said, “There are several complaints regarding harassment where peon is also involved in the offense.”

Harassment is not limited to sexual assault only, it can be any kind, she further added.

Kashmala went on further saying, “If anyone is insisting for tea, it also comes in the form of harassment.”

As soon as the media started quoting her comments,  later in a tweet, Kashmala Tariq tried to clarify her statement. She said, “I said unwelcoming n unwanted text messages n stalking on social media is also harassment. And then I gave examples. Media shall not take just one line out of context pls.”
